Descend into Mawmluh Cave — an IUGS-recognised geoheritage site at the heart of the Mawmluh Forest. A guided 4-hour journey through formations linked to the Meghalayan Age.

The Mawmluh Cave is recognised by the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) and has been proposed for UNESCO World Heritage recognition. The Meghalayan Age marker was identified here. First explored in 1994, the cave remains a defining natural heritage asset for Mawmluh village. It sits at approximately 1,200–1,290 metres above sea level and includes stalactites, stalagmites, cave pearls, moonmilk, pillars, and other formations. The entire system extends about 7.2 km; the guided experience typically takes around 4 hours. Entry is from Mawmluh Village near the old MCCL factory.
